Arsenal starlet Hector Bellerin is thankful for the chances he is being given to impress with the club's first team this season.

The young defender clocked up his full Arsenal debut in the club's recent 2-0 defeat away at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and with right-back Mathieu Debuchy ruled out for three months through injury, is set to receive more opportunities to impress.

For the Spaniard these are exciting times and he is thankful to the Arsenal coaching staff for placing their faith in his talents.

"I'm delighted because I'm getting my chances", he told the Arsenal matchday programme.

"I've been training with the first team since the beginning of the season so obviously the only thing I can say is thanks to the players and the coaches.

"They are giving me the chance and have faith in me so that's what I'm going to give back. I'm looking forward to playing more games and I'm really happy with the way this season has gone so far."

Bellerin, who broke Theo Walcott's 40-metre sprint record in pre-season training at the club, will be hopeful of being handed a starting spot in the Gunners' League Cup clash against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
