Italian outfit Sampdoria have announced that they have signed Croatian starlet Karlo Lulic on a free transfer.

The 18-year-old became a free agent this summer after his contract with his former club Osijek expired.

The highly-rated midfielder had reportedly been a target for Italian giants AS Roma this summer after having made his senior debut in the Croatian league last season at the age of 17.

"Sampdoria can announce they have acquired the sporting rights of Karlo Lulic", a statement on the club's official site revealed.
