Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has insisted that he will be eagerly looking forward to meeting his old club Aston Villa on Saturday.

The 28-year-old was part of Aston Villa's youth team and made his senior debut for the club in 2004.

He managed to make a total of 28 league appearances for the Villans before leaving the club in 2008.

And as his current side Chelsea prepare to host the Claret and Blues at Stamford Bridge, Cahill feels nostalgic about his time at Villa Park.

"I had a great time at Villa, more than anything with the youth team", Cahill told Chelsea's official site.

"I owe a lot to them, they brought me through and I had a great time, so I’m looking forward to it."

Cahill also took time to talk about Aston Villa's impressive run of form at this point in time, insisting that in spite of their recent 3-0 loss to Arsenal, they could turn out to be a force to reckon with for the upcoming fixture.

"They’ve had a great start to the season, apart from their last result, so it’s going to be another tough test for us.

"It’s great to have a winning mentality, if you have a couple of sticky results it puts the pressure on going into games but at the moment we’re unbeaten, we’re going well and we should have confidence, especially playing in front of our own fans at Stamford Bridge."
