Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge feels that the club are on course to have a successful campaign.

Their 4-0 win over Paderborn earlier this week saw the Bavarians climb up to the top of Bundesliga on eleven points after five games.

The German champions are overwhelming favourites to retain their title this season and are also expected to mount a strong challenge for the Champions League.

Rummenigge is pleased with the start Bayern Munich have made despite the disruptions that the squad have had to contend with due to the World Cup.

A number of key players of the Bayern Munich squad played a crucial part in Germany winning the World Cup and therefore joined the squad late for their pre-season preparations.

The Bavarians are also facing injury concerns, but Rummenigge believes that the club are well on course to have another successful season under their belt.

“Lots of people thought we'd make a patchy start”, the club chairman told the official site.

“We always pay a certain price for the World Cup, as you can see from our long injury list. You never quite know how it'll go after the World Cup like the one we’ve just had so we can be pleased with the start we've made.

“It's given us security, belief and some peace and quiet. We're on track for another successful season.”

The German champions will take on 1.FC Koln tomorrow at the Rhein Energie Stadion.
