Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has refused to speculate on extending his loan stay at Manchester City.

The midfielder joined the English champions on a six-month deal from MLS outfit New York City FC in August after leaving Chelsea earlier in the summer.

Lampard, whose loan deal with Manchester City ends on 31st January, has thus far scored three goals for the Citizens, including the equaliser in the 1-1 draw against his former club Chelsea last weekend.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini earlier in the week hinted that he is open to the idea of the ex-England international staying at the Etihad Stadium beyond January.

And Lampard, who feels his goal against Chelsea has given wind to the idea of his extended Manchester City stay, however explained he has not held any discussions with the club regarding such an extended loan.

"I'm signed here until January, so that's all I can say at the minute", he told the BBC.

"That argument's come up since I scored at the weekend.

"The important thing for me is to play well if I can, train well and then we'll see what happens.

"I wouldn't want to get too ahead of myself; it's not my place to do that. That will obviously be a club decision first and foremost.

"I was in very much of a comfort zone at Chelsea. It's good to test yourself in life. All I can say is I am enjoying it."

Lampard, 36, scored a brace in Manchester City’s 7-0 rout of Sheffield Wednesday on 24th September, to continue his goalscoring streak for the Citizens.
