Giorgio Chiellini is optimistic about Juventus’ chances this season after the club made a flying start to the new campaign.

Juventus have won all their opening four Serie A fixtures and their latest, a 3-0 win over Cesena, came despite the Bianconeri resting players after the Champions League week.

Chiellini has played a crucial role in the Italian champions’ strong start to the season and the defender is happy that the club are off to a good opening spell of fixtures.

“We’re happy with how we’ve started the season. It’s an important signal following the eventful summer we experienced”, the Italian international told the club’s official site.

He also believes that there are positive signals for the future as Juventus managed to rest players against Cesena and a number of important players are on their way back from injury.

The defender stressed that the squad are intending to keep working hard and not allow their performance level drop despite the good start.

“We managed to rest a few important players and Arturo [Vidal] made his comeback following the injury he sustained on international duty.

“The many positive signals bode well for the upcoming games. But we’ll keep moving on and working hard on a daily basis because we know we’re just at the start.”

New coach Massimiliano Allegri appears to be carrying on from the good work of Antonio Conte that saw Juventus win three back-to-back league titles in the last three seasons.
