Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has sacked Graham Bean from his role as consultant at the club, with the administrator having been responsible for player contracts and numerous other matters, his effective role having been labelled as that of interim club secretary.

According to the BBC, Cellino was unhappy that Bean agreed to reschedule a Championship match against Reading at Elland Road to this Wednesday (1st October).

The Championship clash was shifted in July, however Cellino is unhappy that he was not told at the time and considers that he should have been informed.

Bean has now paid with his job and told a BBC reporter: "I've enjoyed working with everyone at Leeds United and wish the team every success but can't comment on Mr Cellino's attitude."

The now-former club administrator also claims that David Hockaday, head coach at the club at the time, along with the police, were happy with the rescheduling.

He also claims Football League rules would have meant the fixture would have to be switched in any eventuality.

Bean took up his role with Leeds in May 2014 and listed his responsibilities as: "Currently advising and assisting Leeds United FC in Football Administration, Governance, and Regulatory Issues covering all aspects of close and pre season matters."

He counts spells with South Yorkshire Police, the Football Association and the Football Supporters' Association as amongst his prior roles.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds will issue a statement clarifying the reasons for Bean's dismissal.
