Ipswich Town have snapped up free agent Jack Collison on a short-term deal following his release from Premier League outfit West Ham.

The midfielder has been on trial with Ipswich and the Championship club have been impressed enough to hand him a permanent contract.

Collison turned out for Ipswich's development squad in several games and has been handed the number 31 shirt at Portman Road.

The 25-year-old is a product of West Ham's youth system and clocked up more than 100 appearances for the club over the course of a nine-year spell at Upton Park.

Now Collison will look to get his career back on track at Ipswich and earn regular first team football with the Championship club.
