Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he is intending to play his strongest Chelsea side against Aston Villa.

The Blues welcome the Villans to Stamford Bridge in a early season top of the table clash tomorrow. Chelsea are leading the Premier League table on 13 points, but Villa are not far off in third on 10 points.

Despite their loss to Arsenal last week, Aston Villa have made a flying start to the season and a win against Chelsea tomorrow will see them level on points with Mourinho’s side.

The Portuguese has a strong desire to play his best team against the Villans and that could mean striker Diego Costa is in line to return to the first eleven tomorrow.

"Tomorrow I play with the team that is the best one”, the Chelsea manager said in a press conference, adding: “Everyone is working hard."

Mourinho is aware of ASton Villa’s league position and in no way ready to take Paul Lambert’s side lightly at Stamford Bridge. He believes that Chelsea need to keep improving if they want to consolidate their position at the top.

"Aston Villa are second, they have 10 points, it is a game between the leaders and the team in second. That shows the difficulty of the game and that is the only thing I worry about.

"But in every aspect we have to improve."

The Villans last won at Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Eve in 2011, when they left Chelsea’s title challenge in ruins with a 3-1 win.
