A number of European clubs are keeping a close watch on the progress of Benfica starlet Talisca, with Chelsea amongst them.

The Blues were interested in Talisca before he joined Benfica, who successfully pushed a deal with Brazilian club Bahia over the line for the midfielder.

Interest from Chelsea has not died however and according to Portuguese daily Record, the Blues are just one of a number of Europe's elite who are alive to the 20-year-old's talents.

Benfica have slapped a release clause of €45m in Talisca's contract at the Estadio da Luz in an attempt to retain control of his destiny.

The Portuguese giants paid €4m to snap up the attacking midfielder earlier this summer, instantly slotting the Brazilian into their first team.
