Former Inter defender Fabio Galante is of the opinion that Nemanja Vidic will come good at the Nerazzurri, while conceding the ex-Manchester United centre-back is encountering difficulties at present.

Vidic, who joined Inter this summer following the expiry of his contract at Manchester United, has seen his performances come under fire, culminating in a 4-1 drubbing handed out by Cagliari at the San Siro this weekend.

It has been suggested in some quarters that the Serbian is past his best, but Galante believes Vidic will eventually come good for Inter as his pedigree is too substantial for that not to happen.

"Undoubtedly he is having difficulties, but he was also penalised by a series of episodes", Galante told Tutto Mercato.

"Anyway, in my opinion he is a guarantee. His value cannot be called into question.

"He is certainly not a bad purchase, in the long run he will come good."

And Galante believes Vidic may be experiencing problems communicating with his team-mates, something which is vitally important for a defender.

"Perhaps he may have problems with the language.

"I'm not sure if he already speaks fluent Italian, but for a defender communicating with team-mates is crucial."
