Alan Pardew will remain as Newcastle United manager past the club's game away at Swansea City, despite being under considerable pressure.

The Magpies suffered another defeat last night when going down 1-0 away at Stoke City, with fans again calling for Pardew to be sacked, holding up 'Sack Pardew' banners as he left the pitch.

The former West Ham boss admitted post match that he expects to have serious conversations with the club's owner, Mike Ashley, before the end of the week.

However, according to the Press Association, Pardew's position is not under imminent threat.

He is expected to be in charge when Newcastle face Swansea this coming weekend, and then even beyond that.
