Leeds United defender Sam Byram has revealed that the club's new boss Darko Milanic is a fan of team meetings and discipline.

Milanic took over at Elland Road last week, penning a two-year deal, but lost his first game in charge of the Whites when they went down 2-0 away at Brentford on Saturday.

Byram has now had a number of training sessions with Milanic and is starting to form an opinion of the 46-year-old Slovenian tactician.

"We've had quite a few meetings up in the meeting room and he's very big on compactness and the shape of the team, and sliding across and stopping balls being played into their strikers' feet", he told LUTV.

"He's quite calm at the minute. You can tell he's big on discipline and he puts his ideas across and makes sure that they are listened to and understood by everyone", the defender added.

Byram also explained that Milanic's English is such that he can easily communicate his ideas, bypassing what can often be a common problem for a foreign manager in their early days at a new club.

"His English is pretty good so he's easy to understand. I think it's just a case of working as the weeks progress with him."

Leeds are next in action tomorrow at Elland Road when they host Reading in a Championship fixture.
