Striker Pablo Osvaldo is hoping his move away from Southampton to Inter can become permanent.

The hitman, who joined the Saints last summer from Roma, but headed back to Italy to complete last season with Juventus after a series of disciplinary problems at St. Mary's, signed a season-long loan deal with Inter this summer.

The agreement allows Inter to make the 28-year-old's switch permanent and he is hoping he can convince the Nerazzurri to keep him at the San Siro.

Osvaldo told Sky Italia: "The club is important and there is also an important project.

"My wish is to remain here. I'd like to stay in the same team for more than two years."

Osvaldo has 14 caps for Italy to his name at international level, having chosen to represent the country despite being born in, and beginning his career in, Argentina.
