Tottenham Hotspur Under-21 manager Ugo Ehiogu admits that his side's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the Under-21 Premier League last night left him feeling sick.

The match was locked at 0-0 heading into the final three minutes of the game and Ehiogu was confident his team would secure a hard-earned point at Stevenage.

However, Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj popped up with a goal in the 87th minute through a sublime free-kick and, although Spurs equalised just one minute later through Nathan Oduwa, they were set to suffer heartbreak when Tom Thorpe secured the win for the Red Devils with an injury time headed goal.

And Ehiogu was left feeling sick in the dugout.

"It's sickening really", he told Spurs TV.

"They score a goal, I'm not even sure if the boy meant it, but they had a lot of quality out there today."

The Spurs Under-21 boss was at pains to take the positives out of the game though, feeling his side approached the match with the right mentality.

"The pleasing thing for us was we matched the mentality. Our mentality was good. There was a desire not to want to get beat", he added.
