French defender Mamadou Sakho has been left out of Liverpool's squad for tomorrow's Champions League clash away against FC Basel.

Sakho stormed out of Anfield on Saturday when learning he was to play no part against Everton in the Merseyside derby, being seen getting into his car and driving away.

The centre-back quickly apologised, but looks to be paying the price by being omitted from Liverpool's Champions League squad.

According to the BBC, Rodgers' Liverpool have travelled to Switzerland without Sakho and without the injured Daniel Sturridge, who is still not ready to return to action.

Liverpool won their Champions League group stage opener against Ludogorets Razgrad, running out 2-1 winners at Anfield.
