Manchester United's poor luck concerning injuries has continued with the news that midfielder Ander Herrera has a fractured rib.

Herrera was brought off in the 74th minute of Manchester United's 2-1 weekend win over West Ham at Old Trafford and was quickly sent for an injury assessment.

The news is not good for the Red Devils, with the Spanish midfielder confirmed to have fractured one of his ribs during the game.

Manchester United said in a statement: "Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera sustained a fractured rib during the match against West Ham United on Saturday.

"The Spaniard was substituted in the 74th minute and the club will continue to monitor his progress over the next few weeks."
