Pep Guardiola and Arjen Robben are at odds over just how much of a challenge last night's Champions League clash away at CSKA Moscow was.

The Russian side adopted an ultra-defensive approach throughout, seeking to frustrate their opponents and take advantage of any opportunities which might arise on the counter attack.

A Thomas Muller penalty in the 22nd minute secured the spoils for the visitors, but Guardiola and Robben could not agree about the challenge presented by CSKA Moscow.

"It's never easy. It wasn't easy 50 years ago, and it will still not be easy in 50 years, to play against a team with eleven players at the back – they only defend and that's difficult", the Bayern Munich boss said via UEFA.

However, Robben believes the lack of CSKA Moscow ambition did make the match an easy one.

"We can be very happy – it was easy", the winger said.

"One team only tried to defend and the other team wanted to attack.

"One goal was decisive today and we are very happy with the win and the three points. It was not nice, football should be for the fans, but you have to be professional and you have to play the game."
