Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier is hoping Besiktas arrive at White Hart Lane tomorrow in the mood to play football, in order that the two sides can then put on a show for the fans.

The Turkish giants, who dropped into the Europa League after being put out of the Champions League by Arsenal, drew their opening group game with Greek side Asteras Tripoli, 1-1.

They will be desperate not to lose in England, but Dier is hoping they do not adopt a defensive approach.

"There are never any easy games in football, both in European or domestic competitions, and that’s certainly true when thinking about Thursday’s game", Dier told his club's site.

"Obviously they’re a big club but we’re strong at home, so hopefully they’ll come to play and it will be a good game", the defender continued.

"Hopefully the fans will support us as loudly as usual and I hope in turn we will give them a good result."

Dier joined Tottenham this summer, switching to the club from Sporting Lisbon.
