Celtic striker Anthony Stokes believes there is no room for standards to slip at Paradise due to the competition for places in the attacking department.

The Bhoys made a number of attacking additions this summer, with Serbian Stefan Scepovic and Swede John Guidetti arriving to stake their claims for a spot in the side.

Stokes linked up with Guidetti in the weekend Scottish Premiership win over St Mirren, supplying the on loan striker with the ball to allow him to score his second of the game in the 2-1 victory.

Stokes also played a vital role in last week's 3-0 League Cup win over Hearts.

But he is not about to let his standards slip, being fully aware that Celtic boss Ronny Deila now has a number of options to choose from when it comes to forming his attacking unit.

"I don’t want to get too complacent", Stokes told the club's site.

"I have realised this year that I have work very hard and keep my form up to stay in the team. We have a lot of competition for places, particularly in the striking department.

"It will depend on my form and I just need to keep working hard and try and help the team as much as possible.

"I've had to adapt slightly in the last two games when I have played on the left but I have been enjoying it as I don’t mind playing out wide or through the middle. Once I get myself in the team, that’s my main focus", he added.
