West Ham striker Carlton Cole believes the Hammers are playing the way manager Sam Allardyce demands and as a result are serving up exciting football.

Allardyce splashed the cash in the summer, bringing in a number of attacking talents, including young striker Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia, who have already found the back of the net for the Hammers this term.

West Ham, who have picked up seven points from their opening six Premier League games, have been praised for their refreshing, attacking football. And Cole believes Allardyce now has the players to play the style he prefers.

"I think we're playing some exciting football. The manager has got the team playing the way he wants to play, and our squad is a bit younger than it has been for the last few years", he told the club's site.

"I'm one of the eldest now, going on 31. and that shows you the momentum of the team.

West Ham considered themselves unlucky to go down to a 2-1 defeat away at Manchester United last weekend and will look to bounce back when they take on QPR at Upton Park this weekend.
