Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers had conceded he is playing the waiting game over whether striker Daniel Sturridge will be involved against West Brom this weekend.

Sturridge is out with a thigh injury picked up on England duty in the last international break and as a result he has not been selected for the Three Lions' squad for the forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia.

Rodgers has held out the prospect of Sturridge being involved in some form against West Brom on Saturday, but he admits he has no news on whether the striker will be any closer to a return.

"At this moment in time, there is no one new to come back into the squad", Rodgers told a press conference.

"We'll have to wait and see [on Sturridge]."
