Marek Hamsik has declared his commitment to Napoli after helping the Azzurri put Slovan Bratislava to the sword in the Europa League this evening, 2-0.

The attacking midfielder has been strongly linked with Liverpool and the Reds are thought to be preparing to open talks with his agent to put a deal in place for January.

Napoli are reluctant to lose the Slovak though and Hamsik it at pains to insist he is only focused on life with the Serie A giants.

"I am calm. I want to play well and win with Napoli", Hamsik told Sport Mediaset following the Europa League clash, dismissing transfer talk.

Hamsik scored the opening goal in the clash, with Gonzalo Higuain adding a second.

And the midfielder was delighted to help Napoli earn three group stage points.

"The important thing is to win and not concede goals, this gives us confidence", he said.

The result marks a second consecutive clean sheet for Napoli, following last weekend's 1-0 win away at Sassuolo.
