Basel midfielder Geoffroy Serey Die has urged his team-mates not to get carried away by their victory over Liverpool in the Champions League last night, stressing the Reds are far from Real Madrid's level.

The Swiss side were disappointed to lose their opening group fixture to Real Madrid last month, being thrashed 5-1 at the Bernabeu.

It left them desperate to beat Liverpool, which they did when striker Marco Streller scored from a corner in the 52nd minute, the only goal of the game.

But Die does not want Basel to now become complacent and has warned his team-mates not to compare the clash with the Real Madrid game and think they have suddenly become much, much better.

"First of all, it's not the same calibre of opponent", the midfielder told UEFA.

"And you mustn't forget that it's an advantage to play at home. With the fans that we have, we want to give everything.

"The Real match went very badly – we've put that behind us now", he added.

Die also insists Basel will not underestimate Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad, who they now face in a group double-header, while Liverpool play Real Madrid.

"We don't think of [Ludogorets] as minnows as we have seen them play. They play good football. I think they have the same chances as us: 50-50.

"We're not going to underestimate them. We'll give everything. We'll do all we can to get points over there and we hope it'll go well."
