Laurent Blanc has decided not to involve contract rebel Adrien Rabiot with the first team squad at Paris Saint-Germain this season.

The Frenchman has recovered from a foot injury and is ready to be called up to the PSG squad – but Blanc has other ideas.

The PSG manager is not ready to welcome the 19-year-old midfielder back into the fold and wants him to train with the reserves, according to Le Parisien.

The youngster has refused to sign an extension to his contract, which is slated to expire next summer, and Blanc is not ready to allow him a minute of first team football this season ahead of his expected departure from the club.

This situation could well lead to Rabiot’s exit from PSG as early as next January if the French champions can agree a deal with another club.

The youngster wanted assurances about his playing time at PSG earlier this year, but the club and the manager refused to bow down to the demands of the player, leading to a summer of speculation surrounding Rabiot’s future at the club.

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham have been consistently linked with holding an interest in signing the highly-rated midfielder.

But Roma are believed to be the odds on favourites to land the Frenchman in January or next summer. However, earlier this year coach Rudi Garcia denied any suggestion that a deal is in place to sign the midfielder.
