Kaka believes that his latest call up to the Brazilian national team is based on his performances for Sao Paulo.

Former Selecao coach Luiz Felipe Scolari decided against selecting the ex-AC Milan attacking midfielder for Brazil’s World Cup squad.

However, after a disastrous semi-final exit in the World Cup, Scolari was replaced by Dunga and the former World Cup winning captain has decided to recall Kaka to the national team for friendlies against Argentina and Japan.

Kaka feels that his return to the national team is based on his performances for Sao Paulo in the Brazilian league.

The Brazilian feels that he is in a better condition than he was four years back at the 2010 World Cup and is a better player now.

“Lately I have consistently performed at Sao Paulo", the Brazilian explained to reporters.

“Today I am physically, tactically and technically in a better position than I was in the 2010 World Cup.

“I read the game better and have more experience. I have not been injured for a long time now.”

Kaka also described his pride and the privilege he feels when he represents the Selecao on the international stage.

“Playing for the national team has always been an honour and privilege, it felt like a prize.”

The 32-year-old has earned 87 caps for Brazil and scored 29 goals for his country.
