Barcelona are desperate to tie down talented young goalkeeper Andre Onana to a long-term contract at the club, with Arsenal sniffing around.

The Cameroon-born shot-stopper is highly rated at La Masia and the youth coaches believe that they have a quality player among their ranks.

But the Cameroonian’s contract expires next summer and so far he has been reluctant to pen a new deal at Barcelona.

The Blaugrana’s acquisition of 22-year-old German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Borussia Monchengladbach this summer, along with a raft of other custodians at the Camp Nou, has created doubts in Onana’s mind about his long-term future at the club, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Onana is concerned that he might not be Barcelona’s number one for the future as Ter Stegen is expected to assume that role.
