Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao believes Colombia are on the verge of making it big in international football.

Colombia, minus an injured Falcao, reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup this summer and made a big impression in Brazil.

They are now setting their sights on next year's Copa America, to be held in Chile from 11th June until 4th July, while qualification for the 2018 World Cup is a longer term goal.

Colombia are in action over the international break in friendlies against El Salvador and Canada.

And Falcao is in buoyant mood ahead of the two clashes.

"The most important goal is the World Cup in Russia in 2018, but there are also short-term goals and we want be the best we can be.

"Colombia is ready for big things."
