Jozy Altidore admits he will be forced to seek a move away from Sunderland if he does not receive more playing time before the January transfer window swings open.

The striker believes he reported for Sunderland duty this summer in tip-top shape, but that has failed to bring manager Gus Poyet round to his side.

Altidore has been reduced to a handful of substitute appearances for the Black Cats so far this season, something which does not sit well with the United States international.

"I thought I had done enough before the day to get as fit as possible and make an impression when I play", he told Dutch outlet FOX Sports.

"If things do not change, I will look at other opportunities in January", the American added.
