Galatasaray are experiencing financial difficulties that mean star midfielder Wesley Sneijder is owed €1m in unpaid wages.

The Turkish outfit have only paid the Netherlands international a fraction of his salary so far, which could open the door for the 30-year-old to move on from the Turk Telekom Arena.

According to French outlet Maxifoot, Sneijder could ask FIFA for permission to break his contract with Galatasaray if the Super Lig outfit do not make good on his owed salary.

The situation is sure to put the attacking midfielder's suitors on high alert over a potential switch for Sneijder as early as January.

Sneijder has been consistently linked with Manchester United and has admitted hearing of interest from countryman Louis van Gaal.
