Roma are confident of completing a deal to snap up midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Rabiot was linked with Arsenal, Tottenham, Juventus and Roma over the summer, but stayed put at the Parc des Princes.

However, the midfielder has refused to extend a contract which expires in 2015 and PSG are eager to at least realise a fee for the player in January rather than lose him for free in the summer.

According to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the Giallorossi are confident of signing Rabiot in the new year by paying PSG €5m.

Rabiot has maintained that worries over a lack of playing time rather than financial concerns have led him to refuse to extend his deal in Paris.
