Denmark’s Christian Eriksen feels that he needs to contribute more to his national team after last night’s defeat against Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in stoppage time to give Portugal all three points against Denmark in their Euro 2016 qualifier in the Scandinavian nation.

However, the Danes are still ahead of Portugal in their qualification group and are currently sitting in second behind Albania.

Eriksen feels that they could have played better, but also said that there was little room to create anything in the final third.

“It could have been better”, the Tottenham man was quoted as saying by Bold

“There was very little space but we still tried to create some opportunities. It was a day where it just didn’t click.”

The attacking midfielder feels that he is not contributing enough for Denmark with goals or assists however, and believes that he needs to impose himself on games.

“I was on the ball and should have brought myself more into the game.

“I am not getting the results in terms of goals and assists and that is not what I want. You can always hope to give your best but it was not one of those days.”
