Celtic assistant manager John Collins has expressed his delight at seeing Scott Brown in full flow for club and country.

The Celtic captain suffered a hamstring injury against Rapid Vienna in a friendly in July this year and was expected to be out for three months.

But Brown made a quick recovery and came back onto the pitch in Celtic’s 2-1 win over Aberdeen last month.

And the Celtic assistant manager is delighted to see Brown hitting the ground running immediately after coming back from his injury.

Brown also starred in Scotland’s 2-2 draw away to Poland last night and Collins is pleased to see the 29-year-old dominating proceedings for both club and country after a long injury layoff.

“It’s great to see Scott in amongst it”, Collins told the club’s official site.

“He’s come back from injury and just hit the ground running. Normally it takes players a few weeks to get back up to scratch but he’s got that core fitness in him which is pretty unique.

“You can see as soon as he steps on to the pitch he’s giving the team something different, both with the ball and without it, plus he demands more from his team-mates that anybody else on the pitch.

"For Scotland he has been outstanding.”
