Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are the latest side to join the hunt for in-demand Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard.

The 15-year-old became the youngest ever player to appear in a European Championship qualifier earlier this week when he took to the field in Norway's 2-1 win over Bulgaria.

Odegaard, who plays his club football for Stromsgodset in Norway, is already wanted by a who's who of European clubs.

He has an offer to tour Barcelona's facilities on the table, while Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax are also keen on the midfielder.

Now Sporting Lisbon are putting themselves in the mix and, according to Portuguese daily O Jogo, have sent representatives to Norway.

Sporting Lisbon's scouts will assess Odegaard over the coming months, while officials will try to make contact with Stromsgodset and the player's father.

The Portuguese giants believe they have a compelling story to tell Odegaard to tempt him to Lisbon, as the club boast one of the most esteemed youth academies in Europe, with Cristiano Ronaldo an alumni.
