Chelsea are putting the groundwork in place for a potential bid for Monaco youngster Lucas Ocampos in the January transfer window.

The Argentine forward was snapped up by Monaco in 2012, arriving in France with a big reputation and tipped for the top.

Ocampos clocked up 32 appearances for the principality side in his first season in France, following it up with 41 appearances last term as Monaco finished second in Ligue 1.

The Argentine, who has a devastating turn of pace, has now popped onto Chelsea's wanted list, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The English outfit are now working behind the scenes to put in place a potential move for Ocampos in January.
