Mathieu Flamini feels privileged that he had the opportunity to play with Dutch legend Dennis Bergkamp at Arsenal.

The Frenchman initially joined Arsenal in 2004 from Marseille and had the opportunity to link up with the Dutch superstar during the twilight of his career in England.

“I had the chance to play with Dennis Bergkamp and he was incredible”, Flamini said via the club’s feed.

Flamini left Arsenal to join AC Milan in 2008, but Arsene Wenger decided to bring the Frenchman back to the Emirates last summer on a free transfer.

Since rejoining Arsenal, the 30-year-old has played a crucial role at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield and Flamini said that he likes to keep things simple for himself in the middle of the park.

“I need to keep the right balance, protect the ball, get balls and play them forward for the counte-rattack.”

Flamini also quipped that he has known Tomas Rosicky for too long and nothing about the Czech is hidden from him.

“I've known him for 10 years now and I know everything about him… including his secrets.”

Flamini has made nine appearances for Arsenal this season in all competitions and is expected to feature against Hull City this Saturday.
