Sunderland are in the race to sign Croatian wonderkid Alen Halilovic from Barcelona on a loan deal this January.

The Croatian starlet was a sought after talent this summer, but Barcelona beat off interest from other clubs to sign the highly-rated forward earlier this year.




The 18-year-old has made five appearances in Spain’s second tier with Barcelona’s B team, but the Catalan giants are pondering a loan move for him to gain experience.

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo are keen to take the youngster on a loan deal this January, but Sunderland are ready to give the Spaniards stiff competition for his signature, according to Tutto Mercato.
 


The Black Cats are keen to have a youngster of Halilovic’s talent at the club and want to take him to England this January.
