Middlesbrough have signed Tottenham Hotspur’s 19-year-old midfielder Milos Veljkovic on a short-term loan.

The youngster, who made his Premier League debut for Spurs against Sunderland last season, will spend time on Teeside until mid-January.

The Serbian has featured twice for the north London side this season and will link up with another Tottenham youngster, Ryan Fredericks, on loan at Middlesbrough.

Veljkovic joined Tottenham’s academy in 2011 from Swiss side FC Basel and has made 37 appearances for the club’s Under-21 side.

He has also earned four caps for Serbia’s Under-21 team, but also represented Switzerland at Under-16 level.
