Christian Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoors has defended his client after Denmark coach Morten Olsen criticised the Tottenham playmaker for his performance against Portugal.

Olsen was scathing in his assessment of Eriksen after Denmark’s loss against Poland earlier this week and said that the playmaker’s development has stalled in England.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino strongly defended his player yesterday, saying he has no complaints about Eriksen at Spurs.

And now his agent, Schoors, is reading from the hymn sheet and said that he is unable to process Olsen’s remarks on Eriksen’s lack of development as a player.

“I have got many reactions from England and they do not understand the criticism against Eriksen”, the player’s agent told BT Sport.

“Especially the coach’s comments about his ‘lack of development’ as they were very happy with his performance last season.”

The Dane joined Spurs from Ajax last summer and scored 12 goals and provided 16 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions in his first season in England.

“At just 21-22, in his first season in England he scored 10 times, provided 13 assists, in a team with six new players. Do you think the coach maybe has a problem with his satellite dish?”

Eriksen has 48 international caps for Denmark to his name and has already scored twice in the league for Spurs this season.
