Juan Mata claims Manchester United are not focused on a looming clash against his former club Chelsea.

Chelsea make the trip to Old Trafford next Sunday, heading north as Premier League leaders and having picked up 22 points from eight games so far, establishing a five-point lead over second placed Manchester City.

Mata joined Manchester United in January this year after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho.

But the Spaniard says his and his side's focus is only on facing West Brom at the Hawthornes on Monday evening.

"We only have to think about this game", the attacking midfielder told MUTV.

"The manager is only speaking about West Brom and that’s the same for us."

Should the Red Devils beat West Brom, then they would sit eight points behind Chelsea, a gap which could be cut to five by beating the Blues next weekend.
