Dani Alves' agent has criticised Barcelona for their approach over a contract renewal for the Brazilian, amid fierce speculation that he is set to head for Manchester United.

The flying full-back has been strongly linked with heading to the Red Devils and with his contract at the Camp Nou expiring next summer, is in the driving seat over his future.

And Alves' agent is none too pleased with Barcelona's lack of movement towards keeping his client.

"If the club had wanted to renew Alves' contract they would have already done so", Dinah Santana was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

"I would not have handled things the way they did, however, we will listen to offers until December and January and then we will decide the best course to take", he added.

Alves had been under the impression that his contract lasted longer at Barcelona, but sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta dashed that thought last month.

"The interpretation of his contract has been discussed between the two parties", he said.

"We have studied it thoroughly and have agreed that his contract ends in 2015."

Barcelona are thought to be unwilling to extend Alves' contract on the same lucrative pay packet he currently earns.
