Greece international defender Kostas Manolas admits he could well have ended up at Arsenal this summer, while confirming Juventus were also on his tail.

Manolas shone at the World Cup with Greece this summer and soon had clubs knocking at Olympiacos' door and vying for his signature as a result.

Manolas was linked with Premier League side Arsenal and was even reported to have travelled to London to undergo a medical with the Gunners.

But not so says the defender, who eventually signed for Roma for a fee which could reach €15m if he performs in the Italian capital.

"It's true, Juventus sought me out after the World Cup. I could also have ended up at Arsenal", he explained to Italian daily Il Tempo.

"But I never went to London as it was reported.

"Now for me there is only Roma. I'm very happy to have come here", the 23-year-old added.

Roma currently sit second in Serie A following a strong start to the season. The Giallorossi have picked up 18 points from seven games so far.
