West Ham manager Allardyce has promised a storm for Manchester City next weekend at Upton Park.

West Ham have made a flying start to the new campaign and another win away to Burnley on Saturday helped the Hammers to climb up to fourth in the Premier League table ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.

The win against the Clarets was West Ham’s first back-to-back win this season and Allardyce admits that there is no shortage of confidence in his squad at the moment.

"In the last two seasons we've had to wait a long time for back-to-back wins. This time we've got it in the first eight games, but we needed it as it's one of the big boys this weekend", the manager told the club’s official site.

The West Ham manager feels that it was important for his team to go on a good run ahead of Manchester City’s visit to east London next weekend as not many are backing them to cause an upset against the English champions.

However, Allardyce is hoping that the confidence of a good start to the season will help the Hammers to put one over against the champions as they did against Liverpool a few weeks ago.

"I think when you have had back-to-back wins you go into a game that you're not expected to win with much more confidence than you would normally.

“West Ham fans would expect us to get something from the game but across the board not many other people will.

"So we will be looking to cause another storm and another shock like we did against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago."
