Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a deal for in-from Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who plies his trade for Sampdoria.

Gabbiadini joined Sampdoria from Juventus last summer and scored eight goals in his first season at the club.

But he has made flying start to the new campaign and his four goals in five league appearances have brought him into the notice of Tottenham.

The north London side are keen to sign a striker in the winter transfer window as both their forwards, Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor, have so far failed to fire this season.

And the young Italian striker is in their sights, with Spurs keen to make a move for the 22-year-old, according to Tuttosport.

Spurs might face stiff competition for Gabbiadini’s signature from Atletico Madrid, who are also maintaining an interest in the striker’s exploits in Serie A.

Gabbiadini has scored 19 Serie A goals for three different clubs and has earned a solitary cap for Italy.
