Morgan Schneiderlin has revealed that he is loving life at Southampton, following a good start to the season.

The France international, who was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, decided to stay with the Saints and has been in fine form this season.

Schneiderlin has thus far scored three goals in eight Premier League games in the present campaign and has been a key player behind Southampton’s good run which sees the club currently occupy third place in the standings.

And the defensive midfielder, who explained the mass exodus at Southampton during the summer transfer window was a reason behind him wanting to leave St Mary's Stadium, further added that his good start to the season was vital in proving that he was still committed to the club.

"I'm thrilled to be at Southampton, people trust me and put me in the best frame of mind”, he told Canal +.

“I take pleasure playing for the club", he said before returning to his inclination to leave.

"In life, sometimes you need a change to progress. I was afraid to stay at Southampton after a host of players left the club, and after the World Cup, I had no desire.

“After all the transfer speculation I knew it would be hard, so I really wanted to make a very good start to prove that I was still fully committed to the club.”

Schneiderlin, who joined Southampton from Strasbourg in 2008, has thus far amassed 235 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 13 times.
