Manchester United defensive midfielder Daley Blind has praised his team-mate Marouane Fellaini’s performance in their 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion last night.

The Belgian international, who came on as a second-half substitute, made an immediate impact as his 48th-minute strike at the Hawthorns cancelled out Stephane Sessegnon’s first half opener.

Although the Baggies did reclaim their lead through Saido Berahino in the 66th minute, Blind’s goal three minutes from time shared the spoils for Manchester United.

And Blind, who joined the Red Devils from Ajax in the summer, felt Fellaini’s goal provided his side the necessary confidence to create a great deal of openings thereafter.

"He came in and scored a fast goal, a great goal I think”, the Dutch international told his club’s official site.

“His goal gave us a lot of trust in the game again and that’s why we created a lot of chances after that also.

"I thought he played well."

Manchester United, who are currently sixth in the standings with 12 points from eight games, 10 adrift of leaders Chelsea, will next face the Blues at Old Trafford on Sunday.
