Ashley Young is delighted to be back in the thick of things at Manchester United after his injury layoff.

He made his comeback yesterday in Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against West Brom, after spending more than a month on the sidelines due to a groin injury.

Young, who replaced Angel di Maria in the second half, is looking forward to the games against Chelsea and Manchester City and is optimistic of positive results against the league’s top two.

“We’ve got tough games coming up with Chelsea and [Manchester] City”, the winger told the club’s official site.

“But we still go into those games with confidence as high as it always is and we’ll be looking to get some points from those matches.”

Young admits that he was gutted to miss out on a month of action due to the injury and is grateful towards manager Louis van Gaal for maintaining his faith in him.

“It’s disappointing for any player to get injured but I’m back fit now and I’m only looking ahead. I’m not looking back”, he added.

“I just want to play the best I can. The manager has shown faith in me and I want to go out there and play well.”

Young will hope to feature in the squad when Manchester United welcome the league leaders Chelsea to Old Trafford next Sunday.
