Keita Balde Diao's agent has defended his client against claims he was drunk when he was involved in a car accident.

Keita was reported to have been drunk when involved in the accident, something which has further added to the turmoil around the forward, who has struggled to command a regular spot in the Lazio team this term.

Now agent Ulisse Savini has come out fighting to defend his client, telling Tutto Mercato: "With regard to the reports in the newspapers this morning, I want to emphasise that Keita was not drunk, had not been drinking and the limit of 0.34 reported, although it is absolutely below the legal limit, it is not compatible with what the law provides for a novice driver or total sobriety.

"I want to reiterate that Keita had not been drinking because alcohol is not within his concept of professionalism and the conduct of his life."

Keita, who has been of interest to Liverpool and Arsenal over the last year, has had his future at Lazio placed under a cloud of late.
