Marouane Fellaini is thankful towards Louis van Gaal for giving him another opportunity to impress at Manchester United.

The Belgian midfielder replaced Ander Herrera at the break and scored the equaliser, also his first goal for the club, against West Brom to level the scores at 1-1.

The Baggies again took the lead through a sumptuous finish by Saido Berahino before Daley Blind scored a late equaliser to earn a point for the Red Devils at the Hawthorns last night.

Fellaini joined the club last summer, but had a season to forget at Manchester United last term. But after scoring his first goal for the club last night, the midfielder said that he has worked hard to get a second crack at making it big at the club.

“It was very difficult but I work hard every day and I know that when I am 100 per cent fit then I can be dangerous”, the Belgian told the club’s official site.

“Football is like this, sometimes you have bad moments and that was one. But I am ready for the challenge and to play every game.”

Fellaini was expected to leave the club this summer with Napoli showing a keen interest, but the Belgian is grateful towards Van Gaal for maintaining his trust in him.

“I am happy here and the manager has shown trust in me. Every day in training, I work hard and after that the manager makes a decision.”

Fellaini scored 33 goals in 177 appearances for Everton and also has nine international goals to his name for Belgium.
