Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has explained that he feels the Premier League is the best league in the world.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international, who joined the Citizens from German club Wolfsburg in 2011, has experience of winning the Premier League twice, with both those title triumphs going down to the wire.

In the 2011/12 campaign Manchester City piped their local rivals Manchester United to the title via goal difference, and last season Manuel Pellegrini’s side had to wait until the last round of games to get their hands on the coveted trophy, with Liverpool finishing a close second.

And Dzeko feels the competitiveness of the Premier League coupled with “top players” playing in the competition makes the league unique and the best in the world.

“Definitely the Premier League”, the forward told FIFA’s official site when asked which league he considers best in the world.

“You only need to look at how many top teams and top players there are here, and all of them are all capable of winning the title.

“You don’t get that anywhere else.”

Dzeko, who has a further four years left on his present contract with Manchester City, has thus far amassed 168 appearances for the club, scoring 70 times.
